Insurance Requirements

To ensure the safety of our vehicles and provide a smooth rental experience, all renters are required to maintain active automobile insurance for the full duration of their rental.

All renters must carry insurance that includes:

 Liability coverage

• Collision coverage

• Comprehensive coverage

Already Have Full Coverage Insurance?
If you currently carry full coverage auto insurance that extends to rental vehicles, you may be eligible to use your existing policy—subject to verification.
Our team is happy to review your coverage and assist with the verification process.

Insurance Options Available

Option 1: Third-Party Rental Insurance
Renters may purchase full coverage through our approved third-party insurance provider.

$60 per day

Ideal for short-term rentals or renters who need coverage quickly and do not have personal insurance that extends to rental vehicles
Option 2: Turo Insurance
If the vehicle is booked through Turo, renters may select a Turo protection plan.

Option 3: Obtain Insurance Using the Vehicle VIN
(Agent Disclosure Required)
Renters may obtain their own auto insurance policy specifically for the rental vehicle using the vehicle VIN provided by AITF Auto Rentals, provided the insurance carrier knowingly accepts the vehicle as a rental for compensation.
Policy Requirements

The policy must:

• Apply to a vehicle owned by AITF Auto Rentals or its affiliated vehicle-owning entities

• Permit use of the vehicle as a rental for compensation

• Include collision and comprehensive coverage

• List AITF Auto Rentals (or the applicable vehicle-owning entity) as Loss Payee

• Remain active for the full rental period

Important Disclosure Requirement

The renter’s insurance agent must be informed and acknowledge in writing (on the declarations page) that:

• The vehicle is owned by AITF Auto Rentals or an affiliated entity, and

• The vehicle is being rented for compensation

Policies issued without proper disclosure will not be accepted, even if coverage appears valid.

Important Notice

Insurance policies that:

• Do not disclose rental use, or

• Do not include collision and comprehensive (damage) coverage

will not be accepted, even if the declarations page appears valid.
